jackson hole, wy

every summer, justin's family drives to jackson hole, stays there for a night, then goes about an hour north of jackson to a place called colter bay. they stay in cabins for a few nights & goes boating & such. i went with them for the first time two years ago, just a few weeks before we got married. that time we only had one cabin for his parents, his sister, his brother & sister in law, and us. it was pretty cramped, and being with everybody in the same room for a week can drive anyone crazy. last year we didn't go because i was pregnant with ezra and feeling quite sick. we were so excited to go this year, especially since this year they rented two cabins so justin & i got our own.

this trip almost didn't happen. a week before we were supposed to leave, almost everybody in his family got really sick. our family managed to not get sick until the day before, i threw up all night. luckily ezra fought it off. but justin's dad got really sick and was in the hospital for a few days before we were supposed to leave. he got out of the hospital and we left the next day.

we were so excited to eat at bubbas bbq. we eat there every year. as we entered jackson hole, we joked about it being closed and how crushed we would be. as we passed it, it was closed, and we started freaking out. then we realized it had moved across the street into an old village inn, so we were relieved. but to me, it wasn't as good as it was when it was in the old, small, rustic building across the street. i kinda felt like i was eating at village inn. oh well.

me in antique shop
as always, we went shopping. i couldn't believe how expensive everything was! i know its jackson hole and prices are inflated there, but still. it was insane. so we didn't buy anything. and justin started not feeling so well. poor guy. but we went to a store called "home again". they had this cool idea for a white board. get a frame and some fabric that you like. put the fabric in the frame, and draw on the glass. i made one when i got home. complicated, huh?

the next morning justin & i walked to breakfast at the wort. its pretty upscale & expensive but it was delish. and it was nice to spend some time with just us two. mare/gramma watched ez for us. one of the best things about jackson hole is you can walk anywhere, and the weather was fantastic.

Looks like you had so much fun in Arizona with Val and the Boys!! Jackson Hole looks like a blast. I have never been and have always wanted to go! What a fun tradition for your family. By the way I love that dress you made way cute, and if you ever have a headband party I'm all in!!!
