the grand canyon state

as previously mentioned, ezra & i flew to arizona over val's bday.

ha ha. this pretty much sums up the flight there. ezra screamed for what seemed like an eternity. the fact that we had to sit on the plane for a good half hour before taking off didn't help at all. i had a bottle ready for him cause i was told that would help his ears not hurt. but i didn't realize he wouldn't suck the bottle if he wasn't hungry. poor baby. a very nice older lady came and sat by me and held ezra. after a while we finally got him to fall asleep. when she sat by me i just started crying. it was definitely one of the most stressful situations of my life.

the rest of the trip rocked. i was so excited to see val & the boys & mike. ems, ez, & madden got along great. they were so cute with ezra. emerson held him a lot. 

this is how they spent most of the week. no clothes. it was like 116 degrees.

notice the bib. ezra threw up so much on this trip. it was so sad. all over val too. ha ha. one night we went to the pool and that was way fun. ezra liked it. night time was really the only time to go to the pool, it was way too hot during the day especially with babies. another day val & i were taught how to make cute headbands by val's friend. i am obsessed now! let me know if you wanna make some and we can have a party. i'm wearing the clip i made in the pic of me at chick-fil-a.

on this trip i also realized how much i need justin's help. one morning when ezra woke up i was so tired i thought in my head "jus, it's your turn." then i opened my eyes and realized he wasn't there. dang. mike & val helped when they could but they have two crazy boys of their own to deal with! so it was an adventure. but sooo worth it. i'm glad they let me hang out with them. i love them sooo much.

the flight back was much better than ezra's first time flying. i was determined to not go through that again. i bought ear plugs for babies & ear drops to help with the aching. using those two things and making sure he was hungry during take off worked. he cried when we got on the plane but when i started feeding him he was alright. the rest of it was just keeping him entertained since i couldn't get up and walk around with him (which is his favorite thing to do). we actually had a row of 3 seats to ourselves which was a huge blessing. there was a row in front of us with only one passenger in it but the rest of the plane was full. how did i get so lucky?

we were really excited to see justin. he had been working in st. george while we were gone so that was good. he drove home from st. george that day and picked us up that night. the next day (a monday) we drove to st. george for him to work more. there was no way i was gonna be gone from him any longer, so we tagged along. and about went crazy at the condo all day with nothing to do. it was too hot to go outside. and we had no car. but we survived.
