an eventful weekend.

thanks to the lovely storm outside, justin is having a very hard time getting home from the university of utah tonight. no roads have been plowed & it just keeps on snowin'.  and he has been gone since 6 a.m. poor guy. but ezra is sleeping peacefully & i finally have a minute to update this ol' blog.

weekends for us are awesome. justin is on a 4 day work week schedule because he's employed with the state (which some lawmakers are trying to change... stupid lawmakers, pray it doesn't change! for me? please?) which leaves us friday, saturday, and sunday to spend all day with each other! it is rather great. so, to start off our weekend with a bang, we went to the jazz-nuggets game on thursday night.

story one: ezra meets the prophet.
since justin works in downtown SLC and we had a jazz game that night, i rode up there with justin's mom & ezra and we met justin at little america for dinner. another notable person was dining in the same restaurant, maybe you have heard of him. THOMAS S. MONSON ringing any bells? ezra also happened to run in front of him so he bent down and touched ezra's arm and said something like "well you're just a little go-er, aren't you? tracking already!" and ez smiled at him and was on his merry way. this all happened while mare was watching him so justin & i were still at our table so we missed it. sad face. but what a cool story!
story two: the jazz game.

the jazz lost in a heartbreaking last play in which andrei kirilenko missed an open lay-up but looked to have been touched (illegally) by the denver player in-bounding the ball. which sucks, but what do ya do. it was such an intense game. super close the whole time. i HATE the nuggets so i was really into it and we enjoyed a large sprite and kettle corn and cheered our little hearts out. it was weird not having deron or jerry there. but life is all about change.

story three: more jazz. art. pie. lost (in translation).
even though we love long weekends together, sometimes we go crazy if we don't plan enough things to do. so this weekend we planned on going to salt lake and seeing the little jazz art exhibit going on at the blonde grizzly. they had some awesome art (which i love) of the utah jazz (which i love). so i loved it. it was a really cute little store and i bought me a "JERRY" shirt and justin bought a print of a painting of jerry. i'm not sure how much longer it will be up but it was definitely worth the trip!

next stop: the pie pizzeria. we have been here a few times before. it is a really fun place to eat. personally, the actual pizza doesn't thrill me much. but maybe i'm just not ordering the right crust. i do enjoy their salads and cheese bread, however.

after all that fun, we went home & watched lost in translation. neither of us had seen it before but we both really liked it. have any of you seen it before? what were your thoughts?

story four: the 60th birthday.
on saturday we had a surprise birthday party for justin's aunt christine at magelby's fresh. happy birthday nene!
so, all in all, the weekend was a success. i will try to make time for blogging, i do enjoy your comments oh so much.
